Multi-Target Stereotactic Radiosurgery

Most commissioning processes establish baseline functionality. Fewer address the limits of accuracy for small off-axis targets, and multi-target stereotactic treatments. Default beam modeling parameters recommended by the manufacturer are often not well suited to achieve optimal dosimetric accuracy for these cases.

Physicists at Axis Radiotherapy provide specialized expertise in multi-target SRS with decades of clinical experience and 20+ peer reviewed publications on the subject. We leverage this expertise to help clinics move beyond “acceptable” performance toward robust, well-characterized treatment delivery for even the most challenging dosimetric scenarios.

SRS Commissioning Course
(coming soon!)

We offer an online course to help guide physicists in commissioning an SRS program, including both single target SRS and multi-target VMAT SRS. Many vendor recommended beam modeling parameters are intended to achieve accurate dosimetry for radiotherapy targets at isocenter, but may not necessarily be ideal for treating multiple small targets located off axis. In this course, we walk through the beam modeling process with extensive commissioning data (central and off axis output factors, & measurements for phantom & clinical SRS plans) to determine the optimal beam modeling parameters to achieve accurate dosimetry for multi-target SRS.

In addition to beam modeling, we walk you through development of SOPs and image guidance procedures, as well as performance of various independent dose calculation software and pre-treatment measurement hardware for multi-target SRS. This course leverages our expertise in radiosurgery to give you all the tools you need to develop a state of the art radiosurgery program with highly accurate dosimetry for all scenarios.

Commissioning & Validation

We offer commissioning services and guidance for multi-target SRS programs, including:

  • Beam data collection & validation for central and off axis small fields

  • Beam modeling to achieve accurate dosimetry for all multi-target clinical scenarios

  • End-to-end validation strategies

  • Strategies for accurate, robust, & efficient pre-treatment QA, independent dose calculation, & routine linear accelerator and TPS QA

  • Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) & Documentation
